HOME / COTTONPATCH

Cottonpatch is a 13,000 square foot private home located on a 120-acre farm in Charleston, MS. It was constructed over the course of three years, giving ample time to develop the individual sense of design that the house took on. One of the most interesting features of the interior design of this house is that the homeowners have collected a wide range of African art and accessories after living in Zimbabwe for a few years. Myrna was able to incorporate these items into a unique blend of African and European styling, using antiques from Spain, Germany and England along with pieces such as Shone sculpture and Kente cloth. In addition to designing the spaces, Myrna was able to establish an impressive collection of art for the home, including notable artists such as Romare Bearden, Andrew Wyeth and Georgia O’Keefe, as well as local artists including Randy Hayes and a collection of Maude Schuyler Clay photography.
